Magicast is Roam’s fully integrated screen recorder. Quickly record your screen, video, and audio to create desktop videos for team updates, product demos, and tutorials. Record Magicasts up to 1 hour and 40 minutes long! Magicast While recording a Magicast from your Private Office, Roam automatically sets you to Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with a Magicast icon. Your Magicasts are accessible from the Recordings button in the bottom toolbar. Click a Magicast to view it in the dedicated Roam Magicast player

Magicast can record only a selected portion of your screen instead of an entire display. Record a Selected Area Start a new Magicast from the bottom toolbar. Choose Screen > Select Area. Choose the part of the display you want to record. If you have multiple displays, you can choose which display to select from. Click Use Selected Area. Note: Recording a selected portion of your screen is only available on macOS and Windows, not Linux.

Trim a Magicast to remove extra time at the beginning or end before sharing it with others. Trim the Video Open Recordings from the bottom toolbar. Open the Magicast you want to edit. Click the Trim Video button in the Magicast player. Drag the start and end handles to choose the portion you want to keep. Click Save.

Choose how your Magicast appears in social media previews and before someone presses play by selecting a frame from the video or uploading a custom image. Change the Cover Image Open Recordings from the bottom toolbar. Open the Magicast you want to edit. Click the Cover Image button in the Magicast player. Select a frame from the timeline or click Upload Image to use a custom image. Click Save. Reset to the Default Cover Image Open the Cover Image dialog. Click the three dots in the top right. Magicast creators can see who viewed their Magicast, and how much each viewer watched by percentage. A live view count also appears for everyone to see. Note: A view is counted when someone else watches at least 5 seconds of the video. Magicast Views
