Floor access controls

By default, every member of a Roam can access every floor. Account admins can restrict a floor to one or more user groups, making it easier to run multiple organizations within a single Roam, or to support compliance and privacy requirements. For example, you can make an HR floor available only to members of the HR user group.

Important: Account admins always have access to every floor.

Restrict Access to a Floor

  1. Go to Settings > Roam Administration > Floor Access.
  2. Find the floor you want to restrict.
  3. Add or remove user groups to set floor access.

Accessing Meetings on a Restricted Floor

Restricted floors are normally hidden from guests and members without access. Admins and members of an allowed group see the floor in their Elevator, marked with a lock icon.

Someone without floor access can still join a meeting there through a direct invitation or meeting link, subject to the meeting’s access settings. The floor becomes visible with guest-level access, allowing them to join the meeting but not freely navigate to other rooms on the floor.
