Chat on the map

Click on someone’s profile photo on the map to open a DM conversation with them. In addition to chatting, you can take contextual actions such as Wave, Invite to Me, Remove from Room, End Visit, and more.

Roam also displays chat messages on the map using typing indicators and message previews—what we call 3D Chat. If someone is typing to you in a DM or a group chat you have access to, a “thought bubble” typing indicator will appear next to their profile photo along with the chat icon. Once they send the message, the bubble changes to a message preview, allowing you to quickly access it from the map or AInbox.
