Enhance your video

Roam provides multiple tools to help you look your best and maintain privacy during meetings by masking or enhancing your real-world background and appearance:

  • Face Touch Up—Subtly smooths and evens out facial features to enhance your on-camera look without appearing artificial.
  • Virtual Background—Replace your real-world background with an image you choose.
  • Background Blur—Blurs your real-life surroundings, ensuring only you remain clearly visible on camera.

How to Enable

  1. In a Meeting Room or when Backstage or On Stage in a Theater, hover over the Start/Stop Video button and click the caret (^).
    • Alternatively, go to Settings > Video.
  2. Adjust the appropriate settings as desired.

Choose the Video Processing Pipeline

Roam automatically recommends the best processing pipeline for Virtual Background, Blur, and Face Touch Up based on your computer. Go to Settings > Advanced > Virtual Background, Blur, & Face Touch Up to review the selection.

Keep Use Recommended Settings selected for automatic optimization, or choose one of the other pipelines shown for your device. You can also click Re-analyze hardware to refresh Roam’s recommendation.

Note: Virtual Backgrounds, Blur, and Face Touch Up are resource-intensive features. Turning them off can significantly improve performance during meetings. Learn more about performance troubleshooting.
