Enhance your video

Roam provides multiple tools to help you look your best and maintain privacy during meetings by masking or enhancing your real-world background and appearance:

• Face Touch Up—Smooths skin while preserving fine facial details for a natural, photo-retouched look.
• Virtual Background—Replace your real-world background with an image you choose.
• Background Blur—Blurs your real-life surroundings, ensuring only you remain clearly visible on camera.

How to Enable

1. In a Video Room or when Backstage or On Stage in a Theater, hover over the Start/Stop Video button and click the caret (^).
   • Alternatively, go to Settings > Video.
2. Adjust the appropriate settings as desired.

Choose the Video Processing Pipeline

Roam automatically recommends the best processing pipeline for Virtual Background, Blur, and Face Touch Up based on your computer. Go to Settings > Advanced > Virtual Background, Blur, & Face Touch Up to review the selection.

Keep Use Recommended Settings selected for automatic optimization, or choose one of the other pipelines shown for your device. You can also click Re-analyze hardware to refresh Roam’s recommendation.

Note: Video effects use your computer’s resources. If you notice performance issues during meetings, try lighter video processing settings or turn off effects you don’t need. Learn more about performance troubleshooting.
