Create and manage group chats

AInbox provides full control over creating and managing group chats.

Create a New Chat Group

1. Open AInbox.
2. Go to the Groups tab in the top-left navigation menu.
3. Click the + button.
4. Enter the chat group details, including a photo, name, description, membership, and settings.
5. Click Create Chat Group.

By default, any Roam member can create a new chat group, though this can be disabled in chat compliance settings.

Manage Chat Group Membership & Settings

Only a Roam admin or a group admin can manage a chat group.

1. Open the group chat in AInbox.
2. Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Group Settings.
3. Adjust the chat group settings as needed.

Note: While a public chat group can be made private, a private chat group cannot be made public.

Archive a Chat Group

1. Open the group chat in AInbox.
2. Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Group Settings.
3. Click Archive Chat Group.
4. Click Archive to confirm.

Manage All Chat Groups

You can manage all chat groups from:

1. Settings > Roam Administration > Chat Groups.
2. Roam menu > Edit Groups (macOS).
3. Help menu > Edit Groups (Windows or Linux).
