What is the Theater?

The Theater is a purpose-built space for all-hands meetings, presentations, and large-scale events. It can accommodate up to 3,000 people and automatically scales to a stadium view with multiple audience sections when more than ~50 attendees are present. The Theater consists of four key areas:

Audience

The audience is where attendees watch the meeting. Audience members join an audio-only row of up to five people, allowing them to talk to each other before the presentation begins. Once the presentation starts, they can use the “Hold to Whisper” feature to communicate privately with others in their row. Only the five people within a row can hear each other.

Backstage

Backstage is a private area reserved for presenters and event coordinators. Backstage participants can see and hear those on stage and communicate with other backstage members. While they are hidden from the audience, on-stage participants can see (but not hear) them. Backstage participants can also manage screen sharing, whiteboards, and theater settings.

On Stage

The stage is the main presentation area where speakers can be seen and heard by everyone in the theater. They can manage screen sharing, whiteboards, and theater settings. Up to ten people can be on stage at a time.

Q&A Microphone & Queue

Audience members with questions can approach the Q&A microphone to address the entire theater. This is an audio-only feature, so their video remains off. If multiple people approach the Q&A microphone, they form a queue. Only the person closest to the microphone icon can speak; once they return to the audience, the next person in the queue takes their turn.
