Virtual Shelf

The Virtual Shelf is a dedicated space in your private office for showcasing and sharing items you care about most—like trophies, certificates, or personal memorabilia. It’s designed to help team members learn more about each other’s interests, celebrate achievements, and add a friendly, social dimension to your virtual workspace.

Adding Items to Your Shelf

  • If a shelf does not already exist for your office, click “Add Shelf for My Office” in the bottom right corner.
  • Click on your Virtual Shelf to open it.
  • Click + to add an item to your shelf.
  • Choose the item type, and search, select, or drag and drop the item to add it.
  • Repeat until you have sufficiently filled out your shelf.
  • You can add a description for each item, so you can include context and tell a quick story about what you’re displaying. Colleagues can see exactly why these items matter to you and leave emoji reactions to show their support or spark a fun conversation.

Interacting with Others

When in someones Private Office, open their Virtual Shelf to explore their items. Use your keyboard’s arrow or directional keys to move between items, and hover over or click an item for more details. You’ll also see who’s currently looking at which item, allowing you to discuss and react in real time—an easy way to recreate the spontaneity of in-person office interactions.

The “Shelf Walk”

Consider scheduling a “Shelf Walk” activity, where everyone visits each other’s private offices to view and discuss the items on their shelves. As the group moves from office to office, the host can highlight and talk about what’s on display, while others react with emojis or ask questions. This creates a personal and engaging team experience that deepens connections across your organization.

Note: If you’re having a meeting in a Private Office and can’t see your own or someone else’s shelf, make sure Closed Captions are turned off (More > Closed Captions). When enabled, Closed Captions temporarily replace the shelf during the meeting and will restore once the meeting concludes.
