Link your Google Calendar to Roam
Connect your Google Workspace Calendar so you can schedule meetings in Roam, schedule via Lobby, and manage your Roam meetings directly from Google Calendar.
Organization-Wide Setup
Important: These steps must be performed by a Google Workspace Super Admin who is also a Roam Admin.
- Go to Settings > Roam Administration > Calendar & Integrations.
- Next to Google Workspace Calendar, click Link Calendar and follow the instructions, which include:
- Authorizing your Google account, enabling Roam to read calendar events.
- Configuring Domain-wide Delegation, enabling Roam to manage calendar events for all members.
- Installing the Roam Meetings for Google Workspace add-on (“Admin Install”), so your members can schedule Roam meetings directly from Google Calendar.

Individual Calendar Setup
If you do not have access to a Google Workspace Super Admin, each member of your Roam can:
- Link their calendar individually in Settings > Integrations > Link Google Calendar.
- Install the Roam Meetings for Google Calendar add-on.
Note: This is a last-resort method as it requires every member to complete a series of steps, whereas the recommended method (above) lets a Super Admin set up access for everyone automatically.
Make Roam the Default Video Conferencing Option in Google Calendar
To have Roam links automatically added to Google Calendar events:
- Go to your Google Admin console.
- Click Apps > Google Workspace > Calendar.
- Click Sharing Settings and go to the Video Conferencing section.
- Uncheck “Make Google Meet the default video conferencing provider.”
- Check “Automatically add video conferencing to events users create.”
Note: When enabled, a Roam link will automatically be added to any calendar event where you invite attendees.

Move Meetings from Other Video Conferencing Providers to Roam
After linking your Google Calendar to Roam, you can move your scheduled meetings from other video conferencing providers (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) into Roam.
Disable Google Meet
To disable Google Meet:
- Go to your Google Admin console.
- Search for “Google Meet” and click Settings.
- Under Service Status, choose OFF for everyone.
- Click Save.
Important: Disabling Google Meet prevents everyone in your organization from scheduling Google Meet meetings. This is not required to use Roam as the default option.
